Study Of The 3G Business Development For China

With the latest restructuring in China's telecom industry and the issuance of 3 3G licenses, China telecom industry has formally entered into the 3G era. The start-up of 3G in China means that a new era of mobile value-added services in our country has begun. The technical characteristics of 3G business will bring the tremendous changes for the business structure in China's telecommunications industry, and inject new momentum into the development of the China's telecom industry. China has large number of mobile users, which also has rapid growth rate. It is a major problem how we can provide mobile value-added services for this huge and variety of users, which must be solved. The domestic telecom operators have urgent need to learn and gain the extensive and operational experience from other countries and regions, and then develop reasonable and efficient business in China.In this paper, I used the comparing study method and the survey research method. I not only study the experience of business development in Japan, Korea and West Europe, but also combined the characteristics of China's telecom industry. At last I carried out a questionnaire survey. With the information and data from these three areas, I summed up some business types which can be referred to by China's telecom operators. At the same time I also put forward some proposals for our country's 3G business development, including market segmentation strategy, service content strategy, business propaganda strategy, mobile phone promotion strategy, business charge strategy, innovation strategy and so on. In addition my suggestions also included elderly 3G users, female 3G users and rural 3G users, which are a little neglected by the current operators in China.I hope I could make useful explorations in this thesis for the healthy and orderly development in China's 3G business.
