Analysis On Land Use Change And Its Driving Forces In Zhengzhou City In 1988-2008

Land use change is the hot spot of global change research and forefront issue. regional land use change research has become an important component of the "the International Geosphere and Biosphere Program(IGBP)" and "Global Environmental Change Human Dimensions Program(IHDP)",RS and GIS technology provide an effective technical support for land resources with rapid,accurate,and dynamic changes. Depth analysis on socio economic driving forces of land-use change is impotant to understand LUCC and to predict the future trends in land use change and to make decision for sustainable land use.With the support of RS and GIS,supervised classification of Zhengzhou City in 1988,2001,2008 Landsat TM images were done combined with topographic map and political map,analysis were done on land use change conversion matrix,land use structure,land use extent and land use dynamic degree,combined with socio economic statistical data,analysis were done on driving forces of agricultural land and construction land use change in 1998-2007 using SPSS.The paper is composed by six parts.PartⅠ:Preface.Introduction on the land use change and its driving force,review the progress of research on land use change and its driving force domestic and abroad, overview on research significance,content and research methods.PartⅡ:Introduction of the study area,and analysis on land use current situation and spatial pattern in Zhengzhou City in 2007.PartⅢ:Introduction to theoretical basis of data processing for RS image,then describes the specific steps to extract land use change data in Zhengzhou City,including preprocessing of RS,setting up supervised classification template,supervised classification,classification accuracy assessment,post processing of classification Etc.PartⅣ:Three years land use classification maps and land use change matrix were obtained by TM image data processing of supervised classified in Zhengzhou City in 1988,2001 and 2008 using ArcGIS,then analyze the land use structure,land use extent and land use dynamic degree in 1988-2008.The results show that the proportion of agricultural land in total land area in Zhengzhou City dropped to 42.56%in 2008 from 64.48%in 1988,the proportion of construction land in total land area increased from 18.95%in 1988 to 47.76%in 2008,and the proportion of water,woodland,unused land in total land area also show a decreasing trend,the composite index of land use extent are 298.38,319.15 and 336.71 respectively in 1998,2001 and 2008,it shows that comprehensive level of land use in Zhengzhou City increased as the economy gradually improved;the composite index of land use dynamic degrees in 1998-2001 is 9.27 in Zhengzhou City,and 10.08 in 2001-2008,although both data are in the slow type range, along with rapid economic development,the rate of land use change in Zhengzhou gradually speeds up.PartⅤ:Analysis on the driving force of land use in Zhengzhou City.13 driving factors affecting agricultural land and 11 driving factors affecting construction land were selected based on statistical data in 1998-2007,analysis on the driving force of agricultural land and construction land in 1998-2007 were done using principal component analysis method with SPSS.The results attribute economic development,agricultural science and technology development,population development and social pressure to the main driving force of agricultural land use change,and city infrastructure,the level of economic development,population development and urbanization to the main driving force of construction land use change,then establish driving force model for construction land use change using multiple linear regression analysis method in Zhengzhou City,we can find that the main driving factors of construction land use change are respectively financial income,investment in fixed assets,residential living space per capita and urbanization from the regression model, the factors above respectively represent the level of economic development,urban infrastructure,population development,and urbanization,etc.PartⅥ:Conclusion and discussion,the author briefly review and sum up this article and make some thinking.
