Research On The Risk Management Of International EPC Project

As the process of Chinese construction enterprises expands overseas business speeding up and the efforts strengthening, it is increasing highly that international project contracting market requests the operation and development of enterprises.EPC general contract model gradually becomes to one of the main stream models that international project contracts, because it has the advantages of owners'tendency, resource allocation, and comprehensive benefit. So it gets hold of much attention from legion experts and craft brothers that the study on EPC special properties, all people thinks it is a life-and-death problem that how to avoid the risks which owned enterprises face in overseas construction markets. As the risk factors of international project contracting market are much more and more complex than domestic market's, how to avoid them reasonably and effectively is a life-and-death problem which affects the development of Chinese construction enterprises in construction enterprises.However the study on the risks manage of Chinese EPC general contract projects is still at initial stage, so we need to do further study on it, and it will bring more opportunities to improve the manage level of Chinese overseas construction enterprises, in a word it has very important practical significance.This paper which stands by contractors'side has done the following major studies: Firstly, this paper carries out the comprehensive analysis on international projects EPC general contract model's risks from the risk factors, various stages'risks, risks'frequency, and the impact extent;Secondly, this paper combines the general risk factors of EPC general contract projects with the contractor risk factors of EPC / Turnkey project, and the typical risk factors; consequently it gives a thorough explanation about the risk factors which contractors have to face, and finally it sums up the risks'recognition list of international EPC general contract projects;Thirdly, this paper carries out the risk assessment of international EPC general contract projects with improved AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process), and acquires certain okay results, finally it puts forward specific measures to cope with the primary risks of international EPC general contract projects;Fourth, this paper initially establishes the sudden emergency incident management system of international EPC general contract projects;Lastly, this paper introduces an EPC project risk management case in Indonesia, which has great reference value to the practice.
