Theoretically, innovation stems from two sources, the first one is from the internal source, through technological accumulation via R & D; the second one is from external source, through technological diffusion and technological overflow. FDI and international trade have become essential approaches for developing countries to achieve advance technology and promote self-innovation, and to demonstrate their late-developing advantage.Applying theoretical, current situation and empirical research, this paper deeply analyses influence on China's self-innovation and regional difference from internationalization that based on FDI, export and import, and on the basis of theoretical and empirical research, further analyses the mechanism that internationalization modes express their influence on self-innovation of China and other regions.Through analysis and research, this paper concludes that, FDI inhibits China's self innovation by controlling core-technology; export promotes self-innovation by encouraging R & D investment and technological diffusion; at the mean time, the improving effects from import is ambiguous, as that from foreign advanced technology on China's technology incurs time lag effect. In the analysis of regional difference, this paper makes a conclusion that all of the three modes of internationalization have evidential effects on the east, and effects from FDI and import are negative, while that from import is positive. Meanwhile these three modes have no distinguished effects on the middle, and this limited effect is mainly demonstrated by export, while the other two have no clear effects. In the analysis of mechanism that caused regional difference due to internationalization in self-innovation, author finds that it is mainly caused by environment of scientific and technological advancement and development of market. This paper provides the following policy suggestions: optimizing export trade structure, encouraging eastern export enterprises to transfer to the middle and west, improving quality of foreign investment, changing approaches to attract foreign investment, accelerating economic development, and market development in the middle and west to reduce regional difference, and promoting investment in education and scientific research to attract talents to come back.
