Research On The Impact Of Import And Export Collaboration On The Innovation Ability Of High Tech Industries

In recent years,high-tech industries with high added value and technological content have maintained rapid growth,becoming an important key area for cultivating new driving forces for economic development.However,their development is still unstable,and the industry itself is facing a series of problems such as weak innovation ability,poor product competitiveness,and intensified external international competition.According to previous research by scholars,the technology spillover effect of high-tech product imports can improve the technological level and innovation ability of the industry,and the learning and competitive effects of high-tech product exports also have a positive impact on enhancing industrial innovation ability.At a time when the coordinated development of imports and exports has become an important direction for foreign trade development,this article triggers deeper thinking: Is there a synergistic and interactive development relationship between imports and exports? If so,what impact does the coordinated development of import and export have on the innovation capacity of high-tech industries? In addition,what are the mechanisms by which institutional environment and intellectual property protection play a role?This paper uses the panel data of 31 provinces,municipalities,autonomous regions and municipalities directly under the Central Government of China’s high-tech industry from 2003 to 2019 to explore the impact of import and export synergy on the innovation capability of high-tech industries.Firstly,based on reading a large number of domestic and foreign literature,the collaborative development mechanism of import and export in high-tech industries has been sorted out,and the impact mechanism of import and export collaborative development on the innovation ability of high-tech industries has been sorted out.Based on this,the research hypothesis of this article has been proposed.Secondly,the PVAR model was used to study the relationship between imports and exports of high-tech industries in China,and based on the coupling model,the degree of collaborative development of high-tech industry imports and exports in 31 provinces,municipalities,autonomous regions,and municipalities directly under the central government in China was measured;Furthermore,this article conducts empirical analysis by constructing a panel regression model to examine the impact of import export synergy on the innovation capacity of high-tech industries;Then,the research framework of this article is established by intervening in the regional institutional environment and intellectual property protection.By constructing a model,the regulatory mechanism of the institutional environment and intellectual property protection in the process of enhancing the innovation capacity of high-tech industries through import and export cooperation is clarified.Through empirical research,it has been found that there is a synergistic and interactive development relationship between the import and export of China’s high-tech industries,and this interactive development relationship has regional heterogeneity.The degree of interactive development between the import and export of high-tech industries in the eastern region is the highest,followed by the central region,and the lowest in the western region;Secondly,the coordinated development of imports and exports has indeed significantly promoted the improvement of innovation capabilities in high-tech industries,and the institutional environment and intellectual property protection have played a positive regulatory role in this process.In addition,foreign trade competitiveness,market openness,and industrial scale all have an impact on the improvement of innovation capabilities in high-tech industries.Finally,based on the empirical research results,this article proposes corresponding countermeasures and suggestions to improve the innovation capacity of China’s high-tech industry.
