Research Of The Analysis Method For Relevance Between Cost And Schedule In Construction Project Management

With the utilization of mathematical models and experience drawn from the construction practice for the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Project (Unit 2), this paper probes into the basic principles for the analysis and establishment of relevance between cost and schedule, and further put forward a set of viable measures / approaches for the establishment of such cost-and-schedule relevance.Firstly, this paper presents the current status on the application of cost and schedule management in overall project management, and defines the targets for analysis and establishment of relevance between cost and schedule in light of existing shortcomings.With BQ (Bill of Quantities) and P3 schedule management program as medium for application and means of management, this paper focuses on the principles, methods and procedure for the establishment of relevance between cost and schedule, elaborates on each key step in the process and analyses possible technical and management difficulties in close combination of practice and experience. The paper also briefs the application and achievements in this field during the construction of the Chashma Nuclear Power Plant Project (Unit 2).Finally, this paper looks into the future for the development trend in the field of cost and schedule management.This paper may be referred for study in the development and application of management techniques for future domestic nuclear power projects.
