At the present time communication corporations attach more and more importance to use the Project Management Theory to control the process of different project, no matter the manufacturers or the operators. Schedule, scope and cost are called the triple constraint of the project management. For the operators, the cost of communication is usually stipulated in the contract, so it becomes important to enhance the management of schedule and scope.In the paper we first reviewed the relevant theories of project management, including the summarization of project management, scope management and schedule Management. Then we put most concentration on the establishment of the scope and schedule planning, study on the Critical Path Network and the Critical Chain theories, which are in common use. At the last part of the paper, we analyzed a practical example, the Guangdong International Switch Upgrade project. We investigated the scope planning, work breakdown, activity Duration Estimating, schedule planning, scope control and schedule control in the project, studied the methods used in the process and analyzed the difficulties encountered. It's hoped that these researches can provide some references for the future communication project management.
