Along with China's entry into WTO, retailing industries comprehensive opening to foreign capital of retail enterprises, China's retail format displayed a complex and ever-changing facet. It includes: new types of formats continuously emerging, traditional formats being transferred, some of the formats being overdeveloped, while some of them being under-developed, large differences occurred among profits of various formats, large size of fluctuations in development of formats, all of which reflected that the issue of retail format structure critically demands research and solutions. Compared with foreign retail enterprises, our own retail enterprises still have a long way to go in the aspect of capital strength, business scale, management experience, logistic, information technology, and etc. Therefore, it has great theoretical and practical significance that the in-depth study of foreign retail enterprises influences our own retail format structure.The main contents of this paper are as follow:(1)The paper has analyzed the present situation of retail format.(2)On the base of analysis of positive or negative effect of foreign capital entering, the paper has analyzed if retail format structure is balanced or not by using similar coefficient method. Meanwhile, it has done co-integration test between the arrests and profits of foreign retail enterprises and it.(3)The paper has discussed on profitability and formats growth of retail format in China which is an assisted research of retail format structure.The main conclusions of this study are:(1)The imbalance of retail format structure tends to be balanced.(2)Squeezed by other formats, the department store format has not shown a marked growth in market share decline in the competitive upgrade.(3)Specialty has the rapid development that would become a commercial format keeping pace with integrated department stores and supermarket.(4)Supermarket overall has stable development, and highlighting the advantages of foreign supermarkets.(5)Other formats have huge space for development, major in web sales.The main innovation of this study: In this paper, on the base of evaluating of the retail format structure of China by using the similar coefficient method of cluster analysis, it has done co-integration test between the arrests and profits of foreign retail enterprises and arrests and profits of retail format structure of China according to co-integration theory. Meanwhile, it has proved a steady equilibrium relationship in the long run between the two. It is possible innovation.
