Humanistic Orientation Of The Designing Project Management

Design management is concrete application of science of management in the field of designing, also inevitable outcome of development of artistic design industry. In addition, design project management results from deepening and developing design management.At present, there are many books discussing design project management. Although it has a short history, the study has formed its own framework supported by science of management,project management and artistic design theory and practice such as organization,image,procedure and quality control of design project. With the accumulated experience, the theory of project management is gradually on advancing progress of development.However, design project management seems to focus on management of something, the study of which becomes more and more detailed and rigorous. There are exhaustive explanations about from goals to procedure, from system to supervision, from at home to abroad. The breakthrough of the paper is the idea that management shouldn' t go to extremes and becomes fetters, instead, should be liberation, liberation of human nature. It is not only management of something but most important of people, for the operator of design project is people not something, just as MaoZhedong said "It is people, not thing, that are decisive in war." As space and ability is limited, the purpose of this paper is not to offer up a solution to this problem, but to make a study of people-oriented of design project management.Based on the established theoretical framework of design project management, the paper discuss the potential value of people-oriented factor in design project management. The paper first combine the two conflicting issues of design project management and people -focused, and analyze the relationship between organization,team,project manager and staff to state significance and function of the people -oriented management. The paper state the construction of from general organization to concrete organization. As for the procedure, the paper address that driving factor is people in design and management procedure. It is the people who decide the change and development of things.Finally when it comes to quality control, the paper put forward the view that design project management should focus on people from designer to customer.The paper has had people-focused management of design project on advancing progress of development by discussing the relationship between designers ,between designers and customers and factors in the project management, which has practical and theoretical insignificance for guiding design project management, for people-oriented management will bring a lot of benefits to design project management.
