Study On Relationship Of Corporate Social Responsibility And Susutainable Development

After "5.12" Wenchuan earthquake, the public pay more attention to corporate social responsibilities. Many companies have contributed a large sum, especially Wanglaoji and Wanke. Wanlaoji contributes more money than others, so that consumers see the image of a responsible corporate. In a short period, Wanglaoji increases market share and the brand value gains a continuous upgrade. In contrast, Wanke contributes only two million yuan, so that consumers can not help feel stingy and company's image is greatly damaged. On March 2008, Sanlu poisonous milk powder incident made people feel the importance of social responsibility. It is not only the company's obligations, but also influents a company's survival and development. Corporate social responsibility holds great significance for the corporate sustainable development. In turn, companies which achieve the promotion of sustainable development will fulfill their social responsibilities better. They both promote each other. They are reinforcing mutuality.Basing on the kinds of theories about corporate governance and enterprises sustainable development mainly, combining the special research background of ourcountry, the paper studies on relationship of corporate social responsibility and sustainabla development through the method of the theories analysis together withempirical analysis.The dissertation has five parts:Chapter one is to explain how this subject to be brought forward, including background, objects, significance, main content and method。Chapter two is the introduction, it elaborates on theoretical basis of corporate social responsibility and sustainabla development.Chapter three study the design and assumptions, including the definition of the variable indicators,and design assumptions model.Chapter four analyzes relationship of corporate social responsibility and sustainabla development through the method of empirical analysis. The paper uses 10 companies, which are in the top 50 for seven consecutive years as the samples to study the relevance between the CSR and CSD during 3years in consideration of time lag. Empirical analysis result is that: firstly, CSR in 2007 is negatively correlated to CSD in2007, but CSR in 2006 and 2005 is positively correlated to CSD in 2007; secondly, it is not obvious that CSR influences on CSD. Finally, this paper makes conclusion and prospect, and point to disadvantage and solution about this paper.
