In Human Resource Management practice about enterprise, motivation and recruitment are two important jobs. Because the diversity of human needs, enterprises often motivate employees'enthusiasm, initiative and creativity, by meeting their material needs and spiritual needs. Moreover, since Personnel Assessment methods have great different cost and can not perfect substitute by one another, enterprises often screen more than one stage with different Personnel Assessment methods, to ensure the result of recruitment and save cost.First, the paper puts forward that, in single stage contest only with spirit prize, contestants not only can obtain the utility by comparing result with others, but also can obtain the honor utility, which gets from approbation about their ability,advancement of their status and so on. Therefore, it may influence the value of honor utility to reset contest structure. The paper discusses that, for a contest with honor utility and fixed the number of status categories, contest designer with objective of maximizing contestant'total efforts, how to deal with the number of contestants and the size of every status category. The paper gets that, the size of every status category should be based on the change of honor utility under the influence of contest structure, the distribution of contestants'ability and the position of status category in contest structure. However, contest designer should always set small size of top status category.Second, when study mechanism design of two-stage contests in this paper, saving organizing cost becomes a part of contest designers'objectives. Given the number of all contestants,organizing cost in the first contest stage is a fixed value. Therefore, without influence model analysis, the paper only considers cost of organizing the second stage. And, enterprises want to gain different purpose, by using the internal recruitment and external recruitment: the primary purpose of internal recruitment is to stimulate of staff; the main purpose of external recruitment is to screen out the most suitable one for the position. Therefore, the objective of internal recruitment includes reducing organizing cost and augmenting contestants'total efforts; the objective of external recruitment includes reducing organizing cost and augmenting contestants'highest effort. Especially, when contestants'ability distribution is power function, the paper mainly analyzes the relation of unit organizing cost, contest prize and contestants'ability with the number of the second stage contestant in optimal contest, under two different objectives. The paper shows that, the design of contest structure is strongly related to unit organizing cost, prize and overall abilities of contestant. If unit organizing cost is very high, or most contestants have low ability, only two contestants will enter the second stage.
