As the request of building innovation-oriented country and the background of national intellectual property strategy, patent early warning affair is focused by corporations and relevant institutions. This paper works to construct corporate patent early warning mechanism in corporate position. By researching this matter, the study has not only theory value but also has reality significance to the enterprise's practice of building corporate patent early warning mechanism. The first part is literature review which discusses the shortages of existing studies about patent early warning mechanism. Particularly, domestic research lacks demonstration and details of constructing scheme. There are lacks of relevant research in corporate position and companies participate actively. Then, this paper takes the theories of corporate early warning management and patent intelligence research as the essential and main foundation of corporate patent early warning mechanism. This chapter also summarizes basic concepts of patent early warning which include patent early warning, patent early warning mechanism, corporate patent early warning mechanism and patent early warning indicators system. This paper establishes a corporate patent early warning mechanism: based on indicators system. It involves two basic elements: organization and system. Organization is managerial mechanism of patent early warning mechanism, which includes organization structure, decision system, human resource and regulations. System is MIS working procedures of patent early warning mechanism, which includes information collecting subsystem, information arranging subsystem, early warning indicators subsystem, forecast subsystem and force-controlling countermeasure subsystem. This paper discusses fully about establishing patent early warning indicators system in the fourth chapter. It is the core of this study. The Balanced Scorecard (BSC) is brought in when selecting indicators. This indicators system is made up of twenty indicators from paten, market, law and human four dimensions. Computing weight of indicators uses Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). This part also introduces how to compute indicators assess value and corporate patent early warning degree.Demonstrated company is a large automaker in Chongqing. This process shows more details of the application of patent early warning indicators system. Fortunately, this company is programming to building their own patent early warning mechanism which offer a good condition for this study. Depend on this company's situation, this paper adjusts some indicators. The result shows obviously that this company's ideal patent early warning mechanism has some characters which are classified in automaker industry. This finding proves the probability of building industry patent early warning mechanism on the base of corporate patent early warning mechanism. There are some shortages need to be improved in following study. At last, this paper gives two suggestions about following study. The first is expanding empirical study. Through surveying and studying on multi-industry and multi-company, it could prove the general applicability of the method that building corporate patent early warning mechanism on the base of indicators system. The second suggestion is making patent early warning mechanism research focus more on rivals and offering support to decisions and company strategy. On the above studies, the paper takes elementary studies on establishing corporate patent early warning mechanism, and gives a basic method: on the base of patent early warning indicators, and tries to get improvement in this area. This paper could have some reference value and direction in practice.
