Because of growing world economy and maturity of the market mechanism, thecorporation "homogenization" is becoming more and more evident. With increasedcompetition, more and more companies attach great importance to market research.Market research is essential for enterprise to obtain a bigger market in theenvironment which the consumer awareness becomes more and more mature.However, there are many problems in the process of market research. Due to theexistence of theses problems, we need to re-examine the traditional management ofmarket research, which called for a new management ideas, methods, tools to changeand the elimination of those problems.The way people planning, organization, implementation and control of resourceutilization changed by project management and attracted wide attention and promotionand made important contributions.There is one-off, uniqueness, clarity of objectives, temporary and opennessorganization, and irreversible consequences features in project, which is same tomarket research. So we can say that market research is a project, and we can use thesame management approach to it. The organization of market research needs projectmanagement.As market research of Jiangbei district of Chongqing,for example, this paperused the method of project management to market research management in threeaspects.In the ideology of management, quote the systematical ideology of projectmanagement into the process of market research management. We take the entireresearch project as a complete system, and finish the research projects step by step,based on"macrocosm - decomposition - synthesis" principle in systematology, whichis summarized and integrated into the final results by principals.In the management methods, with project lifecycle theory, ( namely quote projectprocess management to market surveys) put market research project into five processwhich are the beginning, planning, implementation, control, and the end. In the specific management tools implementation, focus on the investigation ofthe utilization of advanced project management tool in process. This research mainlyadopts WBS (Work Breakdown System), in accordance with the law of the projectdevelopment, certain principles and provisions to carry out systematic, interrelatedand harmonious decomposition.In the entire process, we integrated project management into the research projectconsciously, and summarize timely in market research project at the same time tofeedback to project management knowledge afterwards. It's solved some problems inthe process of traditional market research and realized the project management ofprocess in market research.
