The Research On Chinese Service Trade's Influence On The Optimization Of The Industrial Structure

Since the 1990s, the international service trade has become an important component of the international trade because of its rapid development. With the arrival of the service economy, the core of the international competition in the market will shift from merchandise trade to service trade. The development of service trade is a sign of the progress in industry, and it is also an important growth point of a strong country in international trade. It is not only an important booster to the economic growth of a country or a region, but also the main driving force to the optimization of the industrial structure.In the background of service economy, China's service trade has developed rapidly, as in the year 2007 the total import and export of the service trade has reached 252.317 billion U.S. dollars. It is an important mission to intensify the development of service trade and reduce the gap between our country and the world advanced level while we meet the challenges and promote the optimization of China's national economic structure.This article firstly gives the description of the current research situation about the service trade and the optimization of the industrial structure. From the theoretical aspect it mainly describes the effects of the technological progress, economies of scale, resource allocation, and the role played by the service trade in the optimization of the industrial structure by using the specific factors model.Secondly, through the qualitative analysis and quantitative analysis, it makes empirical analysis of the influence which China's service trade has on the optimization of the industrial structure based on the research of current situation of China's service trade and industrial structure. This article simplifies the semi-logarithmic model set up by Chenery and Syrquin to analyze the influence that the net import has on the proportion of the three industries in GDP, and it also analyzes the influence which the service trade has on the output value and employment. It draws the conclusion that for both the GDP proportion and the employment share, the development of China's service trade will enable the proportion of primary industry declined, while the secondary and tertiary industries increased. This article selects the entropy indicator as the quantitative indicator to reflect the operation quality of the industrial structure, and analyzes the role which China's service trade plays in the optimization of the industrial structure through the use of linear regression model. Then it draws the conclusion that China's entropy indicator of the industrial structure is between the ones of typical developed countries and developing countries. What's more, the entropy indicator of the provinces where its economy develops rapidly is smaller than the slower developing provinces. The development of China's service trade will lead to the specialization of the industrial structure.At last, according to the results of empirical analysis, it proposes some development strategies of China's service trade separately from the macro and micro level based on the perspective of the optimization of the industrial structure.
