Nowadays, high-tech industry has become a strategic industry in China. Especially with the development of 53 State-level Science & Technology Industrial Parks (STIPs), the high-tech industrial clusters develop quickly. How to induce it to develop from the initial phase to advanced stage has become a serious issue. Technology Roadmapping method can reflect the object in two dimensions, the level and the element. Industrial integration precisely has the hierarchy character, from regional carrying capacities to competitive advantages, and to the economic development of regions. It also reflects the interaction between the layers. The conceptual framework built from it can enrich the theory of the industrial integration. For the high-tech industry clusters, the status quo suggests that they will develop into industrial integration finally. The nature of high-tech industry determines the characteristics of carrying capacities. Through the organic integration between various elements, the interaction mechanisms take shape, and the reinforcement among mechanisms stimulates the integration. The life cycle theory elaborates the integration path in the dimension of time. After considering the characteristics of high-tech industry which is in various stages of the life cycle, the incremental innovation and the breakthrough innovation can improve the technical capability of clusters, and form the industrial integration finally. As the core of an integrated industry, Enterprises' size and role have effects on the path, mapping the integration path from the dimension of cluster model can solve this problem well. Only by taking full consideration of carrying capacity, the stage of the life cycle and the cluster model, can design a suitable integration path. However, so many uncertainties of the high-tech industry make it face risks, from cyclical risk to external technical risk, from innovative risk to path lock risk. It is necessary to find out the causes of risk and make precautions.This thesis is divided into six parts. The first part is introduction, about the background, purpose, status of the study. The context and the way of study are also presented. The second part introduces the conceptual framework of industrial integration, including regional economic development, competitive advantages and carrying capacities. The third part analyses the status quo of high-tech industry cluster in China, and points out that industrial integration is the trend of development. The fourth part is the core of this thesis. It gives a detailed analysis of high-tech industry integration path from three perspectives, including the carrying capacity, the life cycle and the cluster model. The fifth part identifies the risk of industrial integration path, analyses the causes of risk, as well as making effective precautions. The sixth part is the conclusions and prospects, which reaffirm the main points, point out the defect of this thesis and areas for future study.
