Yandang Mountain is one of the ten most famous mountains in China. With the good reputation of "the emperor of mountains", "the famous mountain in the sea", it was called as "The First Mountain in Southeast China". In the history of China, Yandang Mountain had high reputation and popularity. A lot of celebrities traveled to this mountain and most of them left poetries to praise it. In 1982, Yandang Mountain was chosen as one of the first group of national important scenic sites. In 2005, it won the title of "world geological park". In 2007, it was known as one of the first group of 5A tourism scenic spots. At present, Yandang Mountain is in the preparation for applying for the UNESCO's "World Natural Heritage". As the main tourism product in Wenzhou, the tourism development of Yandang Mountain is critical to Wenzhou tourism industry. The relevant departments are working hard to make it world famous tourist attraction.As China's famous scenic spot, Yandang Scenic Area is given considerable attention by many experts and scholars. And many scientific research results are obtained. After studying these results, we find that the researches mainly focus on the study of the geological value and aesthetic value. The researches on the tourist market are limited. Based on lots of on-the-spot investigations and surveys, this thesis analyzes the characteristics and structures of the tourist market of Yandang Scenic Area, introduces the existing problems and the influencing factors. On this basis, according to the challenges and opportunities faced by Yandang Scenic Area, the thesis puts forward some constructive proposals.The paper is divided into five chapters. Chapter One is Preface, which makes an introduction of the paper's meanings, methods and content, and reviews the related researches on tourist market and Yandang Mountain. Chapter Two introduces the tourism resources of Yandang Scenic Area and analyzes the tourism industry of Yandang Scenic Area . Chapter Three analyzes the tourist market structure and tourists behavioral tendencies basing on the questionnaire survey results. Chapter Four analyzes the existing problems and opportunities faced by Yandang Scenic Area. Based on the previous analysis, Chapter Five puts forward some recommendations for further tourism development.
