A Study On Construction And Development Of Oversea Economic Trade And Cooperative Zone Of China

It is an important measure for conditioned companies constructing overseas economic trade and cooperative zone (OETCZ) with supports from Chinese government. Under the government's guidance, OETCZ is constructed by Chinese companies independently or partly with perfect infrastructure. OETCZ have greater capability to drive more Chinese firms going out and to develop bigger market. According to the developing situation of Chinese economy, OETCZ is an important way to implement the strategy of "going out". It is also a totally new mode for Chinese firms to do foreign investment. To research how OETCZ can make Chinese firms share and develop international market better, which can build up the competition power of internationalization and globalization, it has important practical meaning.This thesis begins with the definition of OETCZ, reviews and summarizes the theories, including foreign direct investment theories of developing countries, and theories of developing districts, analyses the reasons why OETCZs are needed and what are their advantages, this section tried to construct the frame of theory for OETCZ. By collecting and sorting documents of the 19 OETCZs approved by the ministry of business, this dissertation analyses background and the developing of OETCZs in some respects, included the investment destination,industry selection, construction scales park mode and leading company, then summed up some developing routes. Then through the comparison of Lekki free trade zone and Singapore-Suzhou industrial parks, OETCZs can learn something from the two cases. The last thing, according to the situation of Chinese economy, the problems appeared during the construction of OETCZs, which include investment environment,difficulties in financing,talents deficiency and confusion of OETCZs' position, and then brings forward strategies for the government and firms on the basis of theories study and cases study.According to this thesis, the government should enhance the cooperation with investment destinations' governments, macro-control and supervise OETCZs, offers more public things; the companies should analysis the projects strive after more preferential policies, localization job and train the profession man and so on.
