Both the traditional economic or new economy, and regardless of how information technology development, the flow of goods and the world trade can't do without the port. Since the reform and opening policye to the outside, the opening window reflected in the Chinese territory are seaports, the State Council published the first 14 open coastal cities are all seaport cities, the development of Chinese ports can also be considered as a microcosm of opening up. At present, the various port lies on the coastline from south to north in china. Each port is an economic entity and undertake the domestic and international commercial trade, include 80%-90% of import and export cargo volume and 95% import crude oil and 99% import iron ore, as well as leading the local economy. Port economy has been playing an important roal in Chinese modern economyThe analysis of port hinterland scale is essential prerequisite and special requirement to a port planning. It is directly related to the success of a port plan on how to make quantitative analysis on port hinterland with scientific theory, model and method and how to determine the reasonable scale of port market in the process of port planning and construction. This paper is an attempt study of these issues, in order to improve the scientific and rationality of the present port hinterland segmentation. The main influencing factors of port hinterland segmentation include hinterland factor, port factor and the connection fact are listed at first in this paper. We make comparison among the common methods of present port hinterland segmentation such as administrative division method, pivot and ligament method, membership degree method, location quotient method, Newton Model and so on. On this basis, Newton Model is mainly applied and then establishment of evaluation index system of the port gravitation. Then chooese Guangzhou port and Shenzhen port as the example, the finally result is obtained with Multi-level fuzzy comprehensive evaluation method. It's easy to found that the hinterland distinction circle closer to the vertical bisector, and hinterland division have to do with the distance between two ports in a more recent area.but the advantage of Shenzhen Port hinterland gradually emerge in the remote region;Finally, to provide more scientific and reasonable ideas for futrue research.the paper try to use Newton model in the port hinterland segmentation.
