International transportation has been developed into the stage of integratedlogistics under the background of globalization for the past few years. The logisticelements have been gradually enriched while the structure of logistics has beendiversified by this transition. An increased demand for multimodal transport andintegrated logistics promoted the diversification of logistics. The market of logisticshas been classified by the diversified, individualized and high-quality services oflogistics providers. At the same time, the new tendency of global economy appearedunder the influence of economic crisis. The traditional logistics is graduallytransformed with the rapid development of newly emerging economies. Therefore, theoperation model, market exploring and developing method are greatly promoted andinnovated in international shipping industry and global port industry.As one of the newly emerging economies, we maintained high-speeddevelopment in economy especially in logistics these years. Meanwhile, manymanufacturing enterprises moving to the west under the background of developingmiddle-east China leads to the changes on formed structure of supply chain. Manylogistics enterprises started to explore inland market and expand logistics business.Great business acumen and accurate prediction are meaningful to the future andgreatly beneficial to the business.As the No.1port of northern China, Tianjin port has been looking for newdevelopment in addition to the traditional handing trade on their business in recentyears. Being the first to operate inland dry port has proved their excellent performanceon inland market exploring as well as experiences accumulating upon practices.Tianjin port is continuously perfecting their hinterland ports through the constructionof logistic network.This thesis discusses from the perspective of dry port development and studiesthe layout planning, construction idea, operating strategy and business model ofTianjin port in developing inland dry port in order to analyze the significance ofinland node to the development of ports and districts while summarize and explore theclassification of dry port and the importance of relevant developed technology to dry port construction. This thesis aims at applying those different valuable experiences tothe construction of more dry ports in the future by studying the successful dry portoperation scheme from the aspects of location, construction, operation and promotionin Huinong, Ningxia province, one of the21dry ports in Tianjin port.
