In recent years, with the rapid development of the domestic and international trade volume in our country, logistics industry becomes prosperous day after day. As the main distribution area of logistics industry, ocean transportation also makes a great progress for this reason. However, by the increasing demands of logistics, the current construction level and operation mode of our port can not meet the demands gradually, in the mean time some problems of port warehousing then appeared, for example:the layout is unreasonable; the equipment status and work efficiency is unbalanced; the management level is too low etc. Therefore, how to raise the overall level of port logistics system on the existing condition becomes the key point to solve the problem presently. As an important step in port logistics, whether the warehousing is reasonable and efficient has direct impact on the whole system. The port warehousing operation system is taken as the research object in this paper and an in-depth research to its operation process.On the basis of the basic theory and method of system engineering, this paper tries to combine the workflow modeling technique and modern visualize simulation technology, and use the 3D simulation method to simulate the whole operation process, then find and optimize the weaknesses in the system from the output of the simulation results. Firstly in this paper analyzing the composition, technology, basic process and evaluation index of port warehousing system, which is the base of the following research. Secondly introducing the concept and attribute of procedure together with the request of modeling. By means of comparing several modeling methods of business process synthetically to find the advantages and disadvantages of these methods, then building the port warehousing input and output operation process CIMFlow model, which is the sophisticated workflow model on the basis of modified FlowMark method, separately by using the method of workflow technique. Then introducing the principles, impelling process of simulation clock and algorithm of system simulation, developing the port warehousing operation process Flexsim system simulation model, and setting the main parameters of model running as well as the simulation results output. Finally the port warehousing operation simulation and optimizing method is used in the integrated warehouse of Zhongyun Logistics Park in Lianyungang port, the warehouse of which is new construction, so the evaluation and optimizing have an important realistic significance. Through analyzing the real operation condition of this integrated warehouse, the workflow model and Flexsim system simulation model are developed. After times of simulation running, the weak links of system has been found. Then confirming the object and method of optimizing and accomplish the optimizing work of this warehousing system. This example not only verifying the feasibility of the model and evaluating the availability of the optimization method, but also has a certain theoretical support for the practical decision from the simulation result and provides the reference to the research of relative areas.
