As a modern management method, construction project management results from the great social construction and management needs of large-scale project. The level of construction project management plays a crucial role and has great impact on the development of construction enterprises. There are many deficiencies in the project management of construction enterprises in China. We need to improve the project management level in order to adapt to more intense international competition. Project management maturity models are the hot spot in the research of project management both in China and in the outside. As a tool, which can effectively and objectively evaluate quality of enterprise project management that is usually hard to be rationed,it can help enterprises to improve abilities of management to a high level, and gain the trust of both the inside and the outside of the enterprises in their state of the abilities in project management. Finally it can help organizations to improve their abilities of project management. For this reason, this thesis attempts to find a method of improving project management for our Chinese construction enterprises by analyzing the application of project management maturity model in Chinese construction area. Firstly, this thesis reviews the concepts and research status of project management and project management maturity model, and analyses it's economic value. Secondly, this thesis analyzes the project management features of construction enterprises in China, including Complex Product System, lifecycle and project organization. Subsequently, this thesis introduces typical project management maturity model(OPM3)'s scope, basic constitutes and structure and applies it to a typical construction enterprise——BEIJING CCI ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN CO.,LTD, so as to indicate how does OPM3 fit in the estimation of project management maturity in construction enterprises. Finally, this thesis draws a conclusion on the feasibility and problems in the implement in our construction project management and gives some advices on how to fulfill project management maturity model deeply.
