| Today the arrival of knowledge economy, innovation has become an important way of realization of sustained, rapid, and healthy development. Along with the development of the reform of science and technology system, enterprises have gradually become the main body of technological innovation. R&D activities as a core part of technological innovation are the important force to promote market competition, and playing an increasingly important role in the survival of enterprises and improve the overall competitiveness. High-tech enterprises, as the leader in technology innovation, impact on the overall level of a region or a country's economic development level. In the western region, there are rich natural resources, a vast territory and abundant labor force, but for various reasons, relatively backward economy. The development of high-tech enterprises is the only way to achieve leapfrog development in Western companies and the excellent opportunity to enhance western enterprises'competitiveness.This paper reviewed the R&D efficiency research situation of domestic and foreign, given an overview of the current situation of high-tech enterprises in the western region, from R&D expenditures, R&D personnel, new product sales revenue and number of patent applications and analyze the R&D resources differences in the western region by coefficient of variation method. This paper construct the R&D efficiency evaluation index system by combined with the characteristics of high-tech enterprise'R&D activities and the basic theory of DEA method, analyze the relative R&D efficiency of 27 high-tech enterprises listed in the western region by the R&D input and output data of publicly listed companies from profitability, capacity development and technical innovation abilities, try to understand the use of R&D resources of high-tech enterprises in western region, and table the proposal that could improve the R&D efficiency of high-tech enterprises. |
