Study On The Integration Of Regional Tourism Around DongTing Lake In Hunan Province

With the pace of globalization, competition is not the only way to success. In the field of tourism economy, it tends to integrate the region's tourism resources, markets cooperatively in the whole region through a united planning, reasonable organization so that every member of the region share the responsibilities of sustainable development of this region.As a developing region, tourism will be the pillar, highly rewarding and dynamic industry in the area around DongTing Lake. Therefore, it is a must to integrate tourism in this region, making it a new economic growth pole in Hunan Province.On the basis of sustainable development of tourism theory, growth pole theory, the theory of regional cooperation in tourism and so on, in this paper, firstly, it introduce the situation of tourism development in the region, then it analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and the challenges for the integration of regional tourism using SWOT method. In addition, it draws successful experience in similar areas in domestic and overseas. At last, it suggests a series of measures in from regional planning to tourism products. It is comprised of five parts as follows:In the first part it introduces the research background and significance. Besides, it defines the geography scope of the study and summarizes the research status at home and abroad.In the second part, it takes the Dongting lake area as a whole, analyzing the characteristics, evaluation, and spatial distribution of the tourism resources in this region before the current situation of tourism from an overall perspective.In the third part, it continues to analyze the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and challenges of tourism integration in the area around DongTing Lake using SWOT method.In the forth part, it introduces some successful experience in integration from developed area domestic and internationally. In the fifth part, it proposed "three cores", "three axis" and "three circles" in dividing the function of tourism in the region together with other suggestions such as that about products, tourism routs and so on.
