Research On Dalian National Industrial During Japanese Colonial Rule

Dalian, a typical city that has been established and developed after the imperialist invasion in the past hundred years, has witnessed a great change from fishing village to modern northern pearl. Japanese imperialist began a forty-year rule of Dalian from 1905 to 1945, during which Dalian rose to prosperity gradually. However, behind this prosperity all condenses blood and tears. During the rule of the Japanese colonial, the national industry experienced a tough and abnormal development, which has a fast but temporary boom.Dalian's early national industries,which are mainly family manual, such as the ceramic, textile, printing and dyeing industry, steel industry,oil mill industry and the brewing industry, firstly developed in Jinzhou.During the period of the early Japanese colonial rule of Dalian, Dalian national industry quickly developed.With the construction of Dalian Port, the growth of population and the painstaking efforts of the enterpreneur in 1910 or thereabouts, Dalian, has become the Northeast Trade Center instead of Yingkou.During the late period of Japanese colonial rule, they changed Dalian Polytechnic into the military track. At the same time, the Japanese increased industrial investment in Dalian, which made Dalian's national industry lose the competitive ability. What's worse, due to the weakness of national industries, national industries of dalian gradually declined.Paper is trying to analyze the rise and decline of national industries of Dalian, revealing the characteristics of national industries in Dalian, that is, the rise and fall subject to the colonial policy direction, business integration and the implementation of a variety of business, focusing on technological innovation and personnel training.Dalian' national industry, in spite of its weak power, has also played a certain role in the process of development. To some extent, the development resisted the expansion of Japan's colonial economy, promoting education and philanthropy in Dalian's development, Dalian patriotic entrepreneurs to grow. At the same time, Dalian also has its own limitations of national industry, mainly depending on the performance of its colonial rule there.Through the analysis of national industry in Dalian, we can safely draw the following conclusions:national sovereignty is the prerequisite for the development of national industry; technological innovation is the decisive force of industrial development. This paper is designed to reveal the evolution of Dalian under the rule of Japanese imperialist in the perspective of national industry. Through the causes of the rise and fall of Dalian national industry, its characteristics and historical significance, the thesis intends to reveal the disaster to the national industry brought by the Japanese imperialist in Dalian, and the spirit of anti-aggression and continuous striving of industrialist, achieving the goal of learning the lessons of the past.
