Employment is the foundation of the people's livelihood, which is connected to the state's long-term stability, social harmony and stability, as well as the people's living standards. If employment is in a state of instability, so does popular feeling or the will of the people and the society, which also affects social harmony. Because of China's long-term dual system of urban-rural structure, China's "three rural" issues or farmer-village-agriculture problem has become increasingly prominent, with gradually widening of the gap between urban and rural areas, thus social stability is affected,. One of the main ways to solve these problems is to co-ordinate urban and rural employment. At present, China is facing to three major employment pressure, which are for newly-born or recently graduates or job hunters, rural surplus labor and urban re-employment of laid-off workers.Taking the city of Jiuquan for instance, the author made the situation of Jiuquan job market as a foundation and analysed the present issue of rural and urban employment of Jiuquan city. She also made a profound probe to:1. how to speed co-ordinating employment for rural and urban areas so as to form a equal and just, union and principled, orderly and freely transferred employment system for all labor resources; 2. the factors that influence co-ordinating employment for rural and urban areas, such as the matching regulatons or system, concepts and ideas, skills and qualifications, sevice and management, as well as social insurance and welfare. The author pointed out that, in order to solve the problem of co-ordinating employment for rural and urban areas, we ought to better employment and work mechanism and system, help increase middle and small businesses, proactivate and encourage self-developed career, widen a larger space for labors'transfering and exchanging, optimized industrial structure.
