As China is the most populous country in the world, employment is alwavs a big problem our countrv must face In solving the nrohlem n employment, to promote rapid GDP growth is the primary means of our country. Believe that GDP growth will bring about job growth, mainly based on the economic theory, "Okun's Law." However, in recent years, "Okun's Law" gradually fail in China, "high growth, low employment" appeared. On the contrary, Zhejiang has not only maintained a rapid economic growth, employment growth is also very fast in recent years. In economic theory community, the study of the effects China's economic growth on employment have been a lot of, but the study about Zhejiang Province was rare. Zhejiang's economy with its distinct characteristics has occupied an important position in China, so the study has great theoretical and practical significance.Based on the above background, the paper tries to clarify the decision mechanism of Zhejiang's employment from the following aspects:the relationship between economic growth and employment growth; the pulling strength of Zhejiang's economic growth on employment; what factors determine the amount of employment in Zhejiang; the employment impact of industrial structure changes; the employment impact of technological advances. In research methods, this paper mainly empirical analysis of data, supplemented by theoretical derivation of the logic. In the basis of previous studies, this article seeks to bring forth new ideas from the following aspects:modeling the employment decisions mechanism of Zhejiang; quantitative analysis of the employment impact of technological advances and so on.In the research content, the first part of the article mainly reviews major Chinese and foreign theory about the relations between employment and economic growth.Section two firstly test the relationship between Zhejiang's economic growth and employment growth, the results showed that economic growth is a Granger cause of employment growth. Secondly, calculate the elasticity of Zhejiang's employment, the results show that trends in employment elasticity is roughly "U" shape. Finally, through the creation of econometric models, analysis of the employment effects of various factors, the results showed that the rate of economic growth, level of development of private economy, industrial structure changes, interest rates, wage levels, income levels of employment have significant impact. Economic growth rats, level of development of private economy and employment growth is a positive relationship, proportion of primary industry output, interest rates, wage levels, income levels and employment growth is the inverse relationship.Section three is a detailed analysis of the effects of Zhejiang's industrial structure changes on employment. From the trend point of view, changes in industrial structure, changes in employment structure are basically the same, the final sort order of employment and output are " secondary industry, tertiary industry, primary industry " From the industrial structure and employment structure of the deviation analysis results can be seen:Zhejiang's employment absorption capacity of the secondary industry has reached a very high level, there is little room to further improve in the future; the tertiary industry has a large employment potential; there is precipitation of labor pressure in the primary. From various sectors within the industry's contribution to employment point of view, manufacturing, construction, transportation, warehousing and postal industries, wholesale and retail trade and accommodation and catering industry is the main force for creating jobs. In Zhejiang, the largest concentration of employment in manufacturing, construction, wholesale and retail trade in these industries, the private economy dominant. Private economy has become the main source of Zhejiang's employment. The horizontal comparison results Industrial structure and employment structure further confirm that the tertiary industry is the future main direction to expand employment. Section four is a detailed analysis of the employment effects of Zhejiang's technological advances. Between technological progress and employment, there is not only the existence of "destruction effect", but also the existence of "compensation effect". The results show that technological progress conducive to an expansion of employment in Zhejiang in the long term.Section five put forward policy recommendations of expanding employment from four aspects. First, continue to maintain high economic growth, to increase the labor demand from the total amount; second is to stabilize the secondary industry, develop the tertiary industry; third is constantly improving the quality of workers to reduce the structural imbalance of employment; forth is to improve the labor market, reducing labor transaction costs.
