With daily increasing installed capacity of wind energy in Inner Mongolia, it has a higher safety demand on the operation management of local power system due to massive wind power access. According to the data of electronic source, current situation and development plan of power system in western Inner Mongolia, this paper researched the possible effect of access of wind power stations on the power system in Inner Mongolia, especially, effect on the local power system itself. It studied the reactive voltage problem when large-scale wind power station accessed to the local power system. At the mean time, considering the reactive compensation, it analyzed and evaluated effect on stability and power quality when wind power stations access to the power system. It aimed to analyze the interaction of accessed large wind power stations and power system. It is expected to provide countermeasures to solve relevant problems by considering the technical and economic factors, in the hope of promoting the sound development of wind energy in Inner Mongolia.
