The wind power is a kind of renewable green power resources and it is developing fastest among all kinds of renewable resources. The characteristic of wind resource is the random city of the magnitude and direction of wind speed. The power output of a wind power plant is fluctuant and intermittent, which is determined by the instability and intermittence of wind speed, so it will produce severe influence to voltage quality and stability of the power system. With daily increasing installed capacity of wind energy in Inner Mongolia, the percentage of wind power in the power system has been increasing and the influence which large scale grid-connected wind farms bring to the power system will be more remarkable, therefore, it has a higher demand on the operation management of local power system. According to the data of electric source, current situation and development plan of Mengxi power grid, this paper has roundly and thoroughly analyzed the influence on power system stability and safety which large scale grid-connected wind farms bring to the power system, and put forward the corresponding recommendations and operational control strategies. The researching work has an important theoretical meaning and pragmatic value for the programming, designing, operation and policy-making of wind farms in Mengxi power grid.
