Ever since the article written by Mayer and Salovey was published in magazine , the term of emotional intelligence has attracted many scholars eyes. Later, a book named emotional intelligence was published which enabled the term of emotional intelligence more attractive, especially for those Foreign Scholars in psychology and education science. And that made emotional intelligence known by the whole world.Peter, Salovey and John Mayer believe that emotional intelligence should conclude three aspects, which are skills of how to evaluate and express their own and others'emotions correctively, ability to regulate their own and others'emotions effectively and the ability to motivate people and finally achieve goals by using emotion. The relationship between emotional intelligence and performance is the main subject of emotional intelligence under organizational circumstances.Researchers focus on the effects that emotional intelligence have on the performance of different level employees. And their conclusions are basically same. Firstly, emotional intelligence can improve individual's performance. On one hand, employee's emotional intelligence or some aspects of emotional intelligence can positively improve his or her own performance; on the other hand, leader's emotional intelligence can affect subordinates'performance too. Secondly, emotional intelligence can enhance the whole team's performance, whether it's individual's or the team's. The higher the emotional intelligence is, the better the performance will be.Based on these, this article aims to exam how employees'emotional intelligence effect their performance and try to figure out leader-member exchange's mediating effect.
