This paper deals mainly with the development of GAP and Anxi Tea. Based on the practical development of Chinese tea and the relationship between the export of Chinese tea and international trade, it focuses on existing problems in the export of Chinese tea, and aims at finding solutions and countermeasures to a better GAP practice in Anxi as well as in China.The paper introduces the concepts of good agricultural practice (GAP) and tea GAP, the developmental history of international and Chinese GAP, the main contents and certification procedures of GAP, and the relationship of GAP with other food certification standards. It discusses in some detail the impact of GAP on international and Chinese tea trade, summarizes the result achieved by Chinese tea enterprises since they started implementing GAP, and describes the progresses of tea industries in China. The paper presents suggestions on developing strategies for improving and applying GAP in quality-oriented and value-added production of Chinese tea.
