A Study Of The Scope Management For Telecommunication Operator's Special Networking Project For Great Customers

In recent years, it is shown that the communication requirement of great customers is changing from pure voice and internet access to voice and data transmission, video meeting; video monitoring and other mixed applications. In this case, the telecommunication operator is urgent required to provide high quality integrated access solutions to meet the customers'requirement at network security, bandwidth expansibility, multi-service capability and etc. The common feature of great customers'management mode and organization distribution is multi-level management and multi-branch organization, establishing a special networking for headquarters-branch connection, inter branch connection and business'special connection is the typical application of great customs'special networking project.It has been a long time for telecommunication operators to implement special networking projects for their customers. Like the projects of many other areas that also has the character of "customer", the requirement of customer are usually subjective, fuzzy and expansible, the customers'needs may not clear at the beginning and may changing with the development of the project; on the other hand, as the uncertainty of location, environment and man-induced factors, any unexpected factor may induce a variation of the original plan. These uncertainties lead to changes to project scope, and changes in the project scope will lead to changes in project costs, schedule delays and other problems. Therefore, it is very important and necessary to: first, clearly defining the scope of project; second, maintaining the stability of the project scope by controlling the main factors that have influences; and third acting in-time controlling, examine and processing according to a change in project scope.This thesis mainly about the scope management for telecommunication operator's special networking project for great customers, by selecting real cases of great customer's special networking project, build a reference model for scope management of special networking project, combine the theory and tools of scope management with project practice, to achieve the results of the processes in scope management. The main factors that influence the scope of special networking project are identified and analyzed, the requirement management theory is taken into the project scope management, the function of requirement analysis in planning and controlling of project scope is discussed in detail, the method for requirement elicitation, requirement analysis and requirement confirming is also discussed, the scope management of an example case is optimized.This thesis provides a comprehensive, systematic and scientific management frame for scope management of great customers'special networking project, it is a theoretical reserve and could be used as reference for scope management of such kind of projects, and it also might be an important instruction in the implementation of such projects in the future.
