Appraisement On The Renaissance Of Schumpeter's Innovation Theories

Schumpeter's innovation theory has brought great international echo since 1970s, and this phenomenon is called "A Schumpeter's Renaissance", especially the neo-Schumpeterism's evolutionary economics. At the first, the thesis retraces Schumpeter's innovation theory's main contents. Then it expatiates the epoch background of the renaissance of Schumpeter's innovation theories (RSIT), specifically from the practical and academic perspectives. Subsequently it expounds the academic skeleton of RSIT from the angles of entrepreneur theory, innovation and technology long wave, innovation cluster, diffusion of innovation and so on. This thesis gives a summary of the characteristics of Schumpeter's innovation theory. Ultimately based on the view of science paradigm, it appraises the current prospect and limitation of RSIT, and also expects the future research trend of RSIT. The paper points out that the researches on RSIT have developed a few of common faiths, namely admitting the significance of innovation and an academic common group is coming into being, which relies on innovation. At the present time, however, this academic trend is on the age of pre-science, which has not shaped a uniform mature science paradigm. In addition, it forecasts the researches centered on innovation possessing long-term theoretic potential.
