Study On The Inventory Control Of Service Parts Logistics

As customer expect higher level post sales service, service parts logistics grow fast recently, especially in high technology area, but because of the natural property of service parts logistics: it is hard to forecast the requirement; many urgent orders, so the cost is always very high, especially high inventory cost, low service level, they all are the common service parts logistics issues.This thesis will begin with the definition of the inventory, comparing the difference between SPL inventory and common inventory, listing out the most used methods in inventory management area, summarizing the SPL inventory management strategy, then come out the SPL inventory planning strategy base on the discussion. Transportation strategy is also very important in SPL logistics, so we involve it in this section. Our end aim is using correct methods to control SPL inventory and providing SPL services under stable service level.At last, we samples to prove how inventory control strategy support SPL,using X company's data to drop a visible profile of the SPL,describe the SPL outsourcing status using the samples.The thesis keystone is using inventory compositive class mode to make SPL more effective, promoting the service level.
