Innovation is the trend of modern industry. from the hand workshop to the standard production line then to personalized products, modern manufacturing industry has experienced transformation again and again, and now it is an indisputable fact that the tailored production era has come. To survive in the increasingly competitive market, developing, designing and manufacturing personalized products and service has become a good market strategy for standard parts manufacturers. But the challenge is to produce with more stable product quality with shorter delivery cycles and lower operating costs and. The solution is project management base on the modern management system, coupled with the rapid development of information technology systems, and other relevant production management, supply chain management, quality management, to provide a set of integrated solution.In this article, the author discussed innovation and product realization processes and its localization in a large Chinese multinational company. From the analysis of this project process, we can learn more in innovation and product development in terms of specific implementation methods and their management.The implementation process of innovative products was managed on project basis. Through analysis of this whole process, we gained a better understanding of project management usage in new product development applications. The localization of the new product development process is the inevitable route for large-scale Chinese enterprises debouching China. Through the analysis of the localization process local companies can optimize their new product development process. In author's corporation, although the tailored production is a new trend, it did not fully change the fact, which standardized production is still the primary nature of the business, so the company's organizational structure is a Weak Matrix one. Localization process in new product development process, project team members need project management knowledge and relevant skills therefore training becomes the most important task. This paper focuses on the training of project managers on the Weak Matrix Organization which includes four major aspects: 1:General management techniques and the establishment of management philosophy ; 2: The training on basic theory of project management; 3: Corporation internal policies and procedures training; 4: Internal projects management tools training. Finally companies need to create a new product project manager qualification mechanism to achieve long-term training goal for the project managers.There is no project appraisal and incentive mechanism for project team members, because the project management in the new production development workflow is still in the initial stage and currently appraisal and incentive exist on in functional Matrix. In this paper, author proposed the establishment of project performance management mechanism.
