The Position Of Telecom Operator In IOT Business Ecosystem

Internet of things is called the third wave following the computer and the Internet in the world information industry. IOT industry will become the hot spots in China's industrialization and informatization as well as the focus area for the government and society.The three domestic telecom operators' intense participation and positive steps to take in IOT industry have aroused extensive attention at present. However, what's the position of telecom operator in IOT industry? How to make the development strategy for themselves in IOT?This paper intends to solve the following three questions based on the business ecosystem theory.The first is construction of IOT business ecosystem to allow telecom operators obey the basic rules in positioning and strategies formulation. The second is to define and determine the position for telecom operator through the IOT business ecosystem division roles and the corresponding capacity analysis.The third is to make the development strategy for telecom operator through the classification of the characteristics in IOT business ecosystem. This study has important practical significance and reference value.The first part of this paper introduces the literature review in business ecosystem, and then introduces the concept of IOT, development status and the typical industrial applications.Meanwhile, the paper analyze the IOT policy, economic, social and technological environment.In the second part I construct the IOT business ecosystem based on modeling the industry-related the material elements and business ecosystem theory. And study the role of the division in the ecosystem to determine the position according to telecom operators in the matter of the status and advantages in IOT industry.Finally,this thesis makes an in-depth research on business ecosystem features, determines the type of systems and provides reference recommendations on the development strategy for telecom operators.
