Along with the quick growth of the world economy, leaping progress of technology and more and more diversity of the marketing demand, the production method of mass scale production , which was in leading place before in manufacturing industry, can not adapt to the dynamic marketing requirement. More and more enterprises have turned to production method of multiple products with low volume, this change causes the idea and method of enterprise production plan and control to face challenge which have never been faced before. Under the production environment of multiple products with low volume, how enterprise can carry out scientific and efficient production planning and control system becomes the current hot topic of studying and application in current operation field. This article selects one typical manufacturing enterprise of S company as the study objective and has taken detailed analysis and improvement study on its production planning and control system.Based on the collection, classification and analysis of the documents and data, this article firstly studies and diagnoses the production management status under the production method 0f multiple products with low volumes, analyzes its product and manufacturing process characteristics as well as the existed problems, then takes focus to analyze the status the production planning and control system in S company before identifying the existed problems in details. Based on the analysis above, this article starts to apply advanced theory in production planning and control such as manufacturing resource planning (MRPⅡ), Just in time(JIT), Theory of Constraints (TOC), etc. coming up with a series of improvement measurement for production planning and control in S company. The methods used in the improvement measurement includes demand forecasting, rough capacity planning, work job queuing method, ABC material management, etc. Finally, S company has achieved lots of improvement after a series of measurements like training and planning team responsibility adjustment have been taken. The on time delivery performance increases around 5%~10%, while the inventory lever also is managed well with 30% improvement of the inventory turn.The study result shows that the integrated application of multiple production planning and control system as well as continual improvement of the system can effectively improve the company operation performance like on time delivery, inventory turn, etc. Though this article just studies the S company only, while it is to be believed that this study also is practicable to the company in the whole manufacturing industry.
