Today, the competition of economic globalization is increasing, which bringsopportunities but also poses serious challenges at the same time. In order to adapt to thedynamic change of market demand, the majority of enterprises have turned to productionmethod of multiple products with low volume and make-to-order, this change makes theenterprise production planning system encountered challenge which have never been facedbefore. Enterprises must adopt a reasonable production plan, continuously shorten productdelivery time, improve product quality and service level, only in this way can the enterprisesbe in an unassailable position in the competitive market. In the production environment ofmulti-variety and small batches, to establish reasonable and effective production planbecomes the current hot topic of studying and application in operation field.This article selects a enterprise of production of multiple products with low volume andmake to order, ZTY Company production planning system as the research object, and itsproduction planning system and process has carried on detailed analysis and improvement.According to ZTY Company production system and characteristics of the product order,analyzes the current production planning management in the company, and optimizationscheme is put forward. These include two aspects: first, a discrete and section productionline is used with the combination of TOC and JIT management ideas to guide the productionplanning, in order to improve the flexibility of the production supplies; second, in terms ofthe specific production planning have optimized the order selection of make to order andproduction. Demand forecasting method for ZTY Company production planning system,crude production capacity calculation method, the method such as job sorting method, themodel of economic order method is put forward a series of improvement strategies toachieve lower inventory management cost, shorten the response time of users’ needs, tooptimize production planning system for the purpose. ZTY Company, after the optimizationof production planning system, the on time delivery rate increases around6%~10%,semi-finished product inventory decreases by about20%.
