Competition is a common phenomenon in the process of socio-economic development, and the development of tourism is no exception. In recent years, with the acceleration of economic globalization, China's tourist industry has entered a new era, which is full of regional collaboration. The inter-corporate collaboration and concentric-ring-like expansion have become a new idea in dealing with the competition.Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region is one of China's provinces, which is characterized by its narrow width and length. At present, tourism has become an important area of economic growth in Inner Mongolia. Adjacent to several provinces, Inner Mongolia's geographic condition is very favorable. It has provided plenty of room for the realization of inter-provincial tourism cooperation. What's more, intra-regional cooperation paves the way for trans-provincial cooperation. As one of the most important sub-regions in tourist cooperation, Hu-bao-E district has become a leading dynamo. Therefore, based in this region, there is no doubt that the construction of a larger tourist zone will enhance the whole region's cooperation of tourist industry. The paper is divided into six parts, of which the third, fourth and fifth parts are particularly significant. The first part is an introduction, which gives the topic-selecting background, and reviews the relevant research in this area at home and abroad; The second part is a survey of the basic theory on constructing the tourist zone. After explicating the concerned definitions, the paper comes to define two concepts, i.e. the mainstay city of tourist industrial competitiveness and the central tourist zone; The third part analyses the spatial pattern of Inner Mongolia's tourism competitiveness from the perspective of inbound tourism, by means of main composition analysis, neighborhood analysis and Voronoi diagram analysis. Based on the use of tourist area model and the analysis of the current situation of the destination circle's construction in the central area of Inner Mongolia, The fourth part precisely defines the scope of the Central destination circle and also analyses it's structural characteristics by means of buffer zone analysis; The fifth part reveals the spatial structure of 37 regional variables by using Moran's I index. The global spatial autocorrelation and local spatial autocorrelation of the 210 tourist resources of the central destination circle was studied according to the data of the tourist resources in the central area of Inner Mongolia. At last, the concluding part summarizes the research and points out the issues left unresolved by this paper. The results show that the central tourist zone is a region including three mainstay cities and 88 major tourist resources, which can provides 2-6 days of tourist activities. The distribution of tourist resources is in a wide range of spatial dependence but the relevance is not strong .
