The high vocational education in China has achieved substantial development onto a higher stage under the support of governments of various levels over the past two decades. With incrementally clearer teaching direction and increasing teaching quality, the orientation of reform also constantly becomes clearer. The high vocational education in China has been occupying an increasingly important position. However, behind the booming of high vocational education, there are several problems which can not be ignored:the students graduated from high vocational school can not well adapt to the development of society with a lack of competitiveness; the students skill can not meet the requirement of the labor market; the faculty in vocational schools is not with high caliber with a bottle neck of teacher's specialized development; too much emphasis has been lied on systematic and theoretical studies of teaching activity instead of on teaching practice, and consequently the target of training qualified and skilled talents has deviated. In this informational explosion era, with the rapid development of science and technology, products are being upgraded fast and the labor market structure has no longer been stable. Under such big circumstances, how does the accounting major in high vocational school in China train talents with high quality? In cultivating highly skilled and qualified talents, how could the students be made to be able to face change in so fast developing society? How could students learn skills and develop the capability of self-study and self develop? Mastering professional skills, what kind of capabilities of interpersonal communication, team work, problem solution and better accommodation of team work pattern should students learn?Action oriented teaching model was gradually shaped based on the notion and teaching models of German vocational education in 1980s. It is the core of the German vocational education's reform and has been well applied and developed in Germany. The goal of action oriented teaching is to cultivate student's comprehensive vocational abilities, including professional competence, social and methodological capacity and personal development capability. The author thinks that Chinese students majoring in accounting major in vocational schools are also in want of comprehensive vocational abilities for the betterment of adapting to the market needs and social development, and that the students should also acquire self-study and self development capability. Based this point, the author aimed at studying the application of the action oriented teaching model in accounting major in vocational high schools to improve and optimize the currently used teaching model for the better cultivation of student's comprehensive professional capability and to train more highly qualified and skillful accounting talents for the modernization of the socialist construction of China.The present study is composed of six parts:The first part is the introduction. It is necessary and compulsory to introduce and implement the action oriented teaching model in teaching the accounting major in vocational high school. Significant theoretical base has been formed by reviewing the domestic and overseas studies on action oriented teaching.The second part:By defining the action oriented teaching model in the accounting major in vocational high school, the present study builds an evaluation system of the accounting major in vocational high school, encompassing:theory foundation, teaching target, operational procedure, realization conditions, teaching assessment, the goal and principles of the accounting major in vocational high school under the action oriented teaching model is concluded and several specific teaching methods which are applicable to the vocational high school teaching are introduced and used.The third part:Data are collected from the questionnaires completed by accounting major teachers in vocational high schools in Zhejiang Provinces and Shandong Provinces. The results show the current situation and defects of the application of the action oriented teaching model.The forth part:Based on the above mentioned results of the survey, the author proposes a couple of suggestions for the optimization of the action oriented teaching in accounting major in vocational high schools.The fifth part:The present study also presents a teaching case of teaching "the accounting of the major processes in an enterprise" is devised and is carried out tentatively. These studies preliminarily test and examine the feasibility and prospect of the application of the action oriented teaching model in accounting major in vocational high school.The sixth part:Conclusion and reflection.
