| Ming and Qing period, China's feudal society is beginning to decline until the modern Chinese traditional feudal society has undergone profound change.In the process, many traditional concepts that impede the economic development was also changed,mong which, the core of traditional consumption concept -"extravagance&thrifty"is quite prominent.As the core of Chinese traditional consumption thinking ,the concept of"Opposing Thrift & Advocating Consumption"is the product of traditional Chinese political and economic conditions,and it had a far-reaching impact on the whole society. However, this concept was subject to an unprecedented challenge in Ming,Qing Dynasties, and in the change of modern economic and social environment. Especially in the end of Qing dynasty and modern times.In response to the crisis and restore the national prestige, people of vision began to criticize traditional consumption concept——"extravagance&thrifty"based on the social reality and the economic trend .And they put forward their own opinions on consumption from different perspectives.These ideas had shaken the status of China's traditional mainstream thinking of consumption——"Opposing Consumption & Advocating Thrift", and comply with the socio-economic development at that time to a certain extent. There are important experiences forguiding people how to understand the reasonable sides of consumerism and how to construct a scientific and rational consumer ideas.This article begins from the analysis of the concept of consumption, explaining the meaning of consumption from each angle, elaborating China's traditional mainstream thinking of consumption——"Opposing Consumption & Advocating Thrift".This paper regard the typical characters as the main line, and make the concept"extravagance&thrifty"the core, aimed to study and discuss economic thought of"Advocating Consumption"in Ming-Qing Dynasties and modern times, and try to extract positive value from these thoughts. |
