In today's word, with speed development of service trade, the emphases of international economic competition have been shifting from trade in goods to trade in services. The world trade in services has been a long history since prominent trends of economy globalization and industry restructuring emerged. In the period of 1980 and 2005, the amount of services export had been expanded from 365 to 2414.7billion dollars, the increasing times of growth was nearly 5.7, meanwhile, the percent of world trade has enlarged from 1/7 to 1/5.In the years to come, world trade in services will maintain rapid growth and be important to growth performance of all countries. Therefore, it is urgent work to research the relation between trade in services and economic growth. In fact, theory always falls behind reality. These literature on hand pay close attention to trade in foods but ignore services. The only useful part of research is about the liberalization of services but does not deeply analyze the mechanism of action of trade in services. Regrettably, they study with traditional methods and overrate export while undervaluing import. Trade in services consists of export and import. Obviously, it is not complete and enough to just focus on export. This paper mainly discusses the relation between import of trade in services and economic growth, especially the pathway and mechanism. The full text includes six parts as follows:Chapter one is the introduction, including background, significance and a brief retrospect of relevant literatures; Chapter two is theory analysis, which proposes studies of the pathway and mechanism of service import; Chapter three summarizes the development course of services in trade and succeedes in finding the new situations and new problems among existing services trade; Chapter four is concerning about empirical study on the base of preamble; Chapter five puts forward policy advice according to the results of previous theory and empirical studies; In the last chapter, endings, it sums up main conclusions and point the way to further research.
