The existent studies about the relationship between trade and economic growth are mainly focus on the effect of export-trade or net-exports on economic growth, and few papers care about the promotion effect of import-trade on economic growth. Seeing that, this paper tries to investigate this topic in both theory analysis and demonstration research. In details, the thesis is mainly composed of four parts, Following the logic order of "Theory Analysisâ†'Demonstration Researchâ†'Proposal": The first section of this thesis is introduction of theme sekction,research methods and a review of presented papers in correlative areas. Based on theory of economics, the dynamic relationship between import-trade and economic growth in the sight of system is analysised at the second section, correspond with former analysis results, a resemble conclusion is got with a further demonstration research of China's case, which shows that an interactional effect is existed between imports and economic growth, either from long-term point of view or short-term point of view, the import-trade has a significant impetus to economic growth. At the third section, this dissertation investigates what is the inner mechanism of "import-let growth", and makes a demonstration research in the sight of factor supply. In the final section, this paper has made a deeper investigation on how imports promote economic growth through technology spillovers. The results demonstrate that the imported apparatus, intermediates, machine and equipment do have great effect of technology spillovers. Therefore, this dissertation verifies the corresponding mechanism of "import-let growth", import-trade not only has direct contribution but also has indirect promotion to economic growth through a series of dynamic transforms.
