As knowledge becomes the first productivity,we are in a knowledge-based economy background.Knowledge has become a very important factor of production,and played a great role in politics,economy,culture and life of human society.When the core competence of the corporation was brought up,it has been thought as the source of continuous competitive advantages.C K Prahalad and Gary Hamel(1990)defined the core competence of the corporation as"the company's collective knowledge about how to coordinate diverse production skills and technologies".From this definition, in fact,core competence has been thought as a kind of knowledge.And because it is difficult for competitors to imitate core competence,it is a kind of tacit knowledge more than a kind of explicit knowledge.As a kind of tacit knowledge, core competence have 5 features concerned with knowledge——customer benefits , different from other companies,difficult for competitors to imitate,providing potential access to a wide variety of markets and dynamic.Then,according to carry out extensive study of the literature on the core competence of our predecessors,the components of the core competence,regardless of resources, regardless of capabilities, in the end are knowledge. The origin of the core competence is tacit knowledge,and tacit knowledge mostly takes root in convention and vision of companies,and personnel's mind,therefore,the key to producing core competence is the tacit knowledge into explicitness to achieve knowledge sharing and transformation between tacit knowledge and explicit knowledge.That is to say,there is such possibility that between the innovation of tacit knowledge and the core competence of the corporation there are some links.Then,this paper carries out study of forming relationship between the innovation of tacit knowledge and the core competence of the corporation.Accroding to study of literature and a function model,the process of the innovation of tacit knowledge is the forming process of the core competence of the corporation.And construct a model about forming relationship between the innovation of tacit knowledge and the core competence of the corporation.This model can be understood like this:according to its four stages——knowledge acquisition , knowledge selection, knowledge diffusion and knowledge sharing, the innovation of tacit knowledge has a positive effect on the forming of the core competence of the corporation. And knowledge acquisition,knowledge selection, knowledge diffusion and knowledge sharing promotes each other in accordance with the order,and there is also a cyclic relationship among them.Thus,there are five hypotheses——the innovation of tacit knowledge and its four stages respectively has a positive effect on the forming of the core competence of the corporation.By carring out multi-sample questionnaire survey for manufacturing and high technology companies,the results of empirical study show:in manufacturing and high technology companies, the innovation of tacit knowledge and its four stages respectively has a positive effect on the forming of the core competence of the corporation.Therefore,by promoting the innovation of tacit knowledge,core competence can be nurtured.From four stages of the innovation of tacit knowledge——knowledge acquisition,knowledge selection, knowledge diffusion and knowledge sharing,there are a lot of suggestion and tactics about how to promote the innovation of tacit knowledge to nurture core competence of the corporation.
