The Study On International Competitiveness Of Jiangsu Mechanical And Electrical Products

The export of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products has been witnessed rapid growth since reform and opening up, especially since the coming of new century. It has occupied two thirds of the total exports of Jiangsu and has become the important motive power. Though the tendency of international competitiveness of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products seems to go up on the whole, many problems still exist and shouldn't be neglected, such as over-dependence on processing trade, high rate of market concentration, conspicuous difference on international competitiveness of broad heading mechanical and electrical products and so on. Therefore, the study on the status and influence factors of international competitiveness of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products is helpful in seeking measures to promote international competitiveness and then in the service of Jiangsu economics.Firstly, the paper adopts data and facts to analyze the current situation of the export of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products from many angels. Then, to illustrate the status of international competitiveness of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products, with different measuring index, comparative analysis is used, including international comparison, provincial comparison, regional comparison and broad heading products' comparison. Then the paper does empirical analysis based on the SPSS statistical software. Results demonstrate that Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products has fine international competitiveness on the whole, but has conspicuous difference on international competitiveness among broad heading mechanical and electrical products.Based on Porter's Diamond Model, linked with the status of international competitiveness of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products, the paper analyzes the influence factors, especially from factor terms, supporting industries, enterprises and so on.Finally, overall considering the status, in order to promote international competitiveness of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products, some measures are proposed. The paper demonstrates that government, industry and enterprises combine together. Government and industry should create good trading environment. In the meanwhile, enterprises make use of inherent advantages to promote international competitiveness of Jiangsu mechanical and electrical products.
