The Research Of Representation On The Topic Geographic Informatioin In Gis

With the development of GIS,the expression of thematic geographical information had got rapid development in both technical means and methods. It is fundamental difference between GIS and traditional paper maps to express the spatial information,text,images,sound,video,and others on computer. Based on reading and analyzing relevant literature and information at home and abroad,from the point of view on theory and practice,this article do some studies about expression means and methods of thematic geographical information in traditional and GIS. The major elements and Innovation as following:1. First,it introduced the purpose and meaning for studying the expression of thematic geographic information,second it described the task of thematic cartography,and then analyzed the geographic information system (GIS) and the expression of thematic geographic information's status2. It explored the meaning of thematic geographic information from the concept of it and illustrated characteristics and structure of thematic maps by comparing.3. It describes the related theories about the visualization of spatial information.4. It describes the method of representation in GIS,including classification of geographic information representation and new techniques.5. It illustrates process of the visualization on thematic geographic information.6. It summarize the methods and techniques of expression of thematic geographical information in the information age,and do some prospects.The authors believe that the sound and graphic images should have the same status,its role is as important as visual effects,and sometimes the effect of hearing tend to be more effective than the visual,the sound information should been done more study in-depth,but my level of knowledge and reality are limited,I can only do some simple theory discussion.
