Underground mine is a complex underground development system, only the air outlets and personnel, equipment passageway are connected to the surface. A stable mine ventilation system is the guarantee for the underground safety in production. When hauling equipments move in the vent drift, the air boosted by equipment can not timely flow backward like it did in the open ground due to the space limitation, but move forward with the equipments to form the piston wind. Which changes the air flow field of ventilation system, thus the stability of ventilation system was influenced.With the development of high efficient mining, the size and speed of haul equipments increases, resulting in piston wind effects become more prominent. Therefore, the research for piston wind's distribution and changes law of mine hual equipment has great significance to ensure the stability of mine ventilation system.In this paper, theoretical calculation and numerical simulation were adopted. Taking 1360mRL transport platform in Yunnan Tin Regional Mine as practice, this paper studied on the piston flow field of drift and raise, the contents of paper as follows:(1) Analysed the formation mechanism of mine piston wind and the corresponding physical model and mathematical model of piston wind was modeled. Then the basic aerodynamics equations of piston wind, the discrete equations and numerical solution were given.(2) A mathematical model for mine piston wind was established againsted to mine drift and raise according to formation mechanism of mine piston wind. Factors which affect the piston wind was discussed by using the mathematical model, and their influence law and significance level were determined.(3)Taking the electric locomotive and cage as the research objects, this paper carryed out numerical simulation of piston wind in the haulageway and hoisting system by using the CFD software. The distribution law of airflow and wind pressure caused by transport equipments when moving in the raise and drift was obtained and variation of wind flow field was also obtained.The theoretical calculation models were verified by the results of the numerical simulation.(4) The influences that mine piston wind has on the stability of mine ventilation system were analysed, and the measures of how to control the piston wind were proposed.
