Walking beam reheating furnace is a kind of continuous type reheating furnace that can transport billets step by step through cyclic action including rising, falling, going forward and back of walking beam or stepping bottom, and is mainly applied to transport and heat the billets step by step in the furnace before rolling it. Walking beam furnace is indispensable heat-treating facility in the process of billet rolling, and it is widely used in modern steel industry.This paper takes the hydraulic system of walking beam furnace hearth machine as the object, Firstly, series of research has been carried out:calculated the operation condition of the hydraulic system, analyzed and designed hydraulic pump station, translation and lift of hydraulic circuit based on the understanding of the main technical parameters and the mechanical structure of furnace bottom; Next, designed the tanslation hydraulic cylinder of hydraulic system of walking beam furnace hearth, analyzed the force conditions of cylinder block in using finite element analysis software ANSYS, and taked the lightweight design of cylinder block according to the analysis;Then, analyzed driving power, effective power and energy utilization of constant displacement system, constant pressure system and load-sensitive system of hydraulic system of walking beam furnace hearth, compared the energy-saving effect of the three hydraulic systems, and demonstrates the superiority of energy-saving and cost-reducing of load-sensitive system; Finally, conducted static and dynamic analysis on the key hydraulic components such as proportional direction valve and load-sensitive variable pump, taked the software of AMESim to set up models of hydraulic components and the system model of whole translation hydraulic circuits and made the simulation research.This topic makes research for actual production, puts forward a solution to the energy-saving problem of the hydraulic system of walking beam furnace, and provides a new basis for the design of hydraulic system of walking beam furnace in the future. It has very good market prospect and social and economic benefits.
