Study On Ecological Democracy Under The Vision Of Ecological Civilization

Great changes in the productivity and people’s living conditions have taken place caused by the industrial civilization. Industrial civilization also leads to the global ecological crisis, which becomes a huge blow to the development of people’s enthusiasm, however, it brings up the unprecedented opportunities. People start exploring a new development model to replace the current one, and choosing the green development concept to follow the construction of ecological civilization in order to open a new era. As a guarantee system to promote the construction of ecological civilization, ecological democracy has gradually given rise to people’s attention.This paper contains five sections. First of all, we proposed the goal of this research by analysing the inner demand of the development of ecological civilization based on the current ecological crisis in the world, and then came out the necessity of ecological democracy in the construction of ecological civilization based on the known results. Secondly, we analysed the definition of "ecology" and "democracy". We proposed the concept of ecological democracy to solve ecological problems from a democratic point of view, and introduced the basic characteristics of ecological democracy, such asequality, inclusive, pluralistic, open, dynamic, system. The basic conditions and basic principles of ecological democracy have been summarized, and the implementation of two specific forms of ecological democracy, deliberative democracy and fundmental democracy, as well as the important significance of ecological democracy to the social development in our country have been introduced in this paper. Thirdly, we described the current ecological environmental situation in China and the practical significance of ecological democracy to China’s ecological civilization construction based on the theory of ecological civilization in the course of development in China. Fourthly, we introduced the main achievements in the development of ecological democracy in China, and summarized the five stages from the ecological civilization formation to achieve ecological democracy, environment-friend period, the environmental deterioration period, the public policy period, awakening period, ecological democracy period. We pointed out some existing issues during the development of ecological democracy in China, and analysed the main reasons for this situation. Finally, we proposed the strategies to carry out ecological democracy in China from three aspects (consciousness, politics and society) based on the analysis and contradistinction of Germany and Holland in their implementation of ecological concept of democracy.This paper puts forward the ecological democracy into the top-level design of ecological civilization construction, mobilizing the enthusiasm of all sectors of the society, and giving full play to the ecological democracy strong integration and incentives, accelerating the construction of ecological civilization through the development process of ecological democracy, establishing and maitaining the ecological society, promoting the benign development pathway of China’s social development with economy sustained growing, ecological improvementand harmony.
