The compound dry separator is simple technology and more efficient. Water is not involved in the operation. It is widely used for lignite and sulfur coal separation and discharging gangue from coking coal. The automation operation of compound dry separator is difficult, and the simple functions of equipment start, stop and interlock protection are used in the preparation process. Some important parameters such as separator bed transverse, longitudinal angle, the windvalves’ opening angle, collecting groove plates’ angle are still unavailable for automatic operation. The automatic operation technology of compound dry separator lagged behind the domestic development of industrial automation, and it can’t meet the demand of overseas company.The thesis designed a control system of compound dry separator and some of the functions are achieved. It develops the automation operation degree and the parameters adjustment more easily and accurate.Seven steppers are chose to control the turning angle, turning speed and direction. They are applied to adjust the bed transverse, longitudinal angle, three airvalves’ opening angle, and two collection groove plate sangle.The soft measurement is used to obtain the separator bed angles because the sensors are unavailable in the strong vibration condition.The fuzzy control model is based on the experience law and operation law. The former law is established by the experiments of 11 groups row coal samples from different areas, and the latter law is from skillful operators.A BP neural network control system is established using the experimental data. A method which uses the OPC communication protocol and Matlab is proposed.The fuzzy control system selects the SIEMENS S7-300 PLC as the controller and Wei Lun Tong touch screen as the upper computer. Two group coal samples are used to verify the reliability of the system.
