Ecological footprint analysis is a new theory and method of sustainable development degree for a quantitative measure of the national and regional environment. In this paper, the ecological footprint analysis method is applied to theassessment of sustainable ecological environment for Liliu Mining.Combining the ecological footprint model, the ecological capacities model and grey prediction methods, the sustainable development of ecological environment for Liliu Mining from 2008 to 2011 was analyzed and was predicted from 2015 to 2029, from the evaluation scales more accurate effect on environment. Moreover, the countermeasures and measures to prevent or mitigate adverse environmental impact was proposed, in order to provide the development countermeasures and scientific basis of sustainable development for Liliu Mining c. The results are following:Application of ecological footprint theory, the ecological footprint and ecological capacities of Liliu mining from 2008 to 2011 was analyzed. The results showed that the per capita ecological footprint of Liu mining from 0.3243 hm2 in 2008 increased to 0.3846 hm2 in 2011. However, the per capita ecological capacities of Liu mining from 0.4090 hm2 in 2008 decreased to 0.3564 hm2 in 2011.The ecological deficit was appeared in 2010. The grey prediction methods showed that the per capita ecological deficit for 2015 of 0.1965 hm2. The ecological deficit is increasing. In 2029, the per capita ecological deficit will be increased to 2.1988 hm2. Therefore, the transformation of Liliu mining and Lvliang city should be carry out.
